Harton Quays Park opened in September 2013 and was designed by renowned landscape architects Grant Associates. The park stretches along the River Tyne from South Shields Ferry Landing to The Customs House theatre, making an attractive gateway into South Shields Town Centre.

The park features curved embankments, immaculate lawns and colourful plants, as well as a promenade, sheltered gardens and a dramatic pine grove viewing point which is shaped like the bow of a ship.

There is also a curved ribbon wall which was created using 144 pre-cast concrete panels, a stunning water feature, and a seating area from which you can overlook the riverside and the trusty Shields Ferry.

An amphitheatre within the park offers a lovely setting for al fresco drama and music in the summer.
